Born Ilechukwu Augustine Ugochukwu in the vibrant town of Awgu in Enugu, Raja Beta’s journey into the world of music was written in the stars. Surrounded by the vibrant rhythms of his father’s DJ sets and the melodies of festivals, his deep-seated passion for music was evident from the start, as he immersed himself in the art form, playing drums and other instruments with joy and ease.
It was during his formative years in secondary school that Raja Beta’s musical destiny began to take shape. Taking charge of a hip-hop group, he quickly became known for his soulful performances and innate leadership. Inspired by his father’s love for DJing and fueled by the electric energy of his school performances, Raja Beta made the bold decision to pursue a music career.
Entering the world of music production after school, Raja Beta began to hone his craft, drawing inspiration from influences as diverse as Pop Smoke to Mr Eazi. His unique style, blending elements of Afrobeats with alternative rhythms, began to take form, setting him apart as a distinctive voice in the industry.
Despite the challenges of breaking into the music scene, Raja Beta’s perseverance paid off with the release of his latest single, 4 pm in Ikoyi, featuring Peni and Jeriq. This breakout hit propelled him into the spotlight, earning him recognition and acclaim within the industry.
Looking ahead, Raja Beta is gearing up to release his highly anticipated EP, a 5-track project that showcases his evolving artistry and features collaborations with talented artists. With aspirations for global recognition while staying true to his authentic self, Raja Beta is poised to make his mark on the music scene, one beat at a time.
