Popular entertainer Idowu Adeyemi, mostly known as Yhemo Lee, and his fiancée, Tayo tied the knot traditionally over the weekend in style. The bride and groom brought their fashion A-game as Yhemo Lee wore a magnificent agbada by renowned menswear brand, Deji & Kola for his first look.
Tagged “Okin“, this Yoruba traditional attire was a nod to the first set of Agbada worn by the Yorubas for the traditional wedding. According to the designer:
I want the look to stand out and take it back to the traditional way of dressing regarding marriage. When you see our forefathers, they wore something like this and you don’t see it being made anymore.
The name “Okin,” meaning “Peacock” in Yoruba, aptly reflected the grandeur and pride embodied in the ensemble, the intricate embroidery and bold design elements made around the agbada with hints of tassel-like designs is a physical representation of when a Peacock spreads its wings, making it a standout piece that commanded attention at the star-studded event.
