What would you picture if you were asked to imagine a room where every fashion item tells a story of boldness and audacity? For us, it would be “Glenfiddich Present Bold in Fashion with I.N Official and Orange Culture” which was held recently on the 26th and 27th of October at Amah Studio. At the event, fashion was celebrated with pieces that exuded bold patterns and unexpected combinations that left us in awe. Ifeanyi Nwune and Orange Culture’s unapologetic creative collections embodied the essence of the “Celebrate the Bold” campaign from which the “Bold in Fashion” experience was born.
The first day of the event unfolded with exquisite musical renditions that served as the backdrop for fashion enthusiasts to mingle and fraternise over their shared love of fashion, culture, and striking signature pieces from Ifeanyi’s “Nirvana” collection that adorned the venue. Each of the pieces, styled primarily with Aso-Oke, evoked the richness of Africa’s rich heritage and pride of black supremacy.
It was not hard to identify Ifeanyi as a Glenfiddich collaborator as the display included six standout pieces exclusively for the newly released I.N Official X Glenfiddich Collection, which was an influence and inspiration by the Glenfiddich 12-year-old whisky bottle. He did not fail to let the audience know it took about six months to style and create those pieces. As a talented fashion designer owning a record label, his own factory, and having his pieces featured on huge platforms like Vogue and GQ, Ifeanyi’s journey of resilience aligns perfectly with Glenfiddich’s values of being bold and self-challenging.
During the event, Ifeanyi displayed his dexterity and skill with fabric, colours and patterns by styling the resplendent Laide Mimi in his stunning Nirvana Collection. Francis Jide topped it off by mesmerising us with a live painting session where he captured Laide Mimi vividly in the standout Nirvana Collection. Take it from us when we say each stroke and expression added an artistic flair to the evening. This wrapped up a memorable first day, leaving us with the anticipation for the creative director of Orange Culture, Adebayo Oke-Lawal the following day.
On the second day Orange Culture shifted gears and added a spirited and interactive spin at the offsite experience to the Lagos Fashion Week where he unveiled and had friends celebrate the launch of the official Spring Summer 25 Collection (SS25 Collection). Let’s speak interior because it was a visual treat. The branded Orange Culture photo booth tried to steal the spotlight but had nothing on the new collection as guests gathered to take Polaroid shots with friends retaining the memories of the evening.
The venue buzzed with great energy, vibes and support from guests present, it was like a family reunion. The high chants and cheers of the guests filled the room as Adebayo handpicked a few of the attendees to walk down a mini runway as the best strut with the most hype went home with a custom Orange Culture look. The list of guests who participated in this were Denrele Edun, Denola Grey, Larry Hector, Sisiano, Jay on Air, Tamara and Sonia, and the man of the hour Adebayo Oke-Lawal.
The crowd was moved as John Banji took them to another level with the ultimate blend of sound as each guest networked and nibbled on the yummy finger foods served, perfectly complemented with the Glenfiddich cocktails. The brand’s generosity didn’t stop there as a fashion trivia session added a layer of education to the fun. Attendees were quizzed on the production location of Orange Culture’s latest SS25 collection, with the winner receiving another signature outfit from the brand. Now imagine our surprise when everyone present was being handed gift bags, no guest left empty handed as each person present left with either a Boiderma or Lush gift bags, adding a stylish touch to the night and making sure everyone left with a memory of the experience.
Glenfiddich’s involvement in these events was about more than just a collaboration—it was a statement of support for creatives who dare to redefine norms and challenge boundaries. These two days weren’t just about clothes, they were about embracing creativity, history, and the passion to carve a unique path forward. Here’s to more bold futures, as seen through the lens of Glenfiddich and Nigeria’s vibrant fashion scene. Until next time, ensure you #CelebrateTheBold
